title: What is Croche?
description: Use Croche's SDK to add agents, conversations, and app tools to your app.

[!nav:main](/nav/main.md)

Build your app. Let Croche take care of the AI inside it.

Croche runs the model for you. Its SDK lets you open a project, create agents, send messages, and connect your app's actions as tools. Use Studio to get credentials, edit AI configuration, test behavior, and inspect your app's reports.

## Start building

1. **[Ask your coding agent to use Croche](plugin.md).** It installs the CLI and handles your app's integration.
2. **[Complete the quickstart login](quickstart.md).** Sign up in Studio, create one developer key, then run `croche login` yourself. Login is pending release verification.
3. **Let the agent build and check the first turn.** Start with [TypeScript](sdks/typescript.md) or [React Native](sdks/react-native.md); native [Swift](sdks/ios.md) and [Kotlin](sdks/android.md) setup is pending API review.

Joining the event? See the [hackathon guide](hackathon.md).

## Developer tools

Use the [coding-agent plugin](plugin.md) for Croche-specific coding guidance and the [CLI](cli.md) to inspect a project, edit drafts, and debug an attached development app. Their public installation steps are pending verification.

## What you build with the SDK

- Open a [project](concepts/runtime.md) for your app's user and get its [agents](concepts/agents.md).
- Send inputs and render [messages and events](concepts/messages.md).
- Connect app capabilities with [tools](concepts/tools.md). Your handlers enforce permissions and decide whether an action is allowed.
- Choose [configuration and language](concepts/config.md) for the user.

A game character can use an inventory tool. A shopping assistant can look up products. A tutor can respond to a student's progress. Your app owns its data, user experience, and permission checks.

## Documentation for people and agents

Every page has an HTML view and a raw Markdown twin. Use **Read as Markdown**, or replace a page's trailing slash with `.md`. The home page's twin is `/index.md`.

The same clean URL accepts `Accept: text/markdown` for your coding agent.
